Masterson’s Lounge, located in the heart of Moonee Ponds , promotes itself as a chic “hipster” locale , but my unfortunate encounter at this establishment resulted in an experience I’d rather forget . While the bar may appear inviting from the outside , what I found behind its walls was shocking and unacceptable on multiple levels .
Cleanliness Issues : Filthy and Abandoned
From the moment I entered , it was clear that sanitation was not a priority at this venue. The floorboards were filthy, and a overpowering stench of uncleaned spills and filthy restrooms suffused the entire establishment . Reeking of a mixture of urine , putrefaction and illness . The bar area , which should be the main attraction of any pub, was piled high with used mugs and litter that looked like it hadn’t been touched in ages .
